DESCRIPTION:Part III of our Growth & Opportunity Series\n\nThe Event Center & District Redevelopment Project\;  The Heart of Lynnwood\n\n\n\nJoin us for our monthly luncheon Wednesday\, June 12th at Embassy Suites for the next installment of our Lynnwood Growth & Opportunity Series.\n\n\n\nYou'll be amongst the first to learn of redevelopment plans for the Lynnwood Event Center and the 13 acres of land surrounding it\;  The District.\n\n\n\nThe District is working on a transformational civic master plan to redevelop our 13-acre area to create a vibrant community hub in the heart of Lynnwood's city center.\n\n\n\nThis proposed new Heart of Lynnwood will create an exclusive section of the new Downtown Lynnwood\, designed to provide a unique Lynnwood retail experience.  Imagine a collection of neighborhood retail stores\, restaurants\, coffee shops that are exclusively Lynnwood .not chain stores \n\n An expanded Event Center with an outdoor plaza & theater!\n\n& More!\n\n\n\nThe District Executive Director\, Janet Pope\, will provide an overview\, details and artist renderings of this exciting new chapter for Lynnwood!\n\n\n\nJanet Pope   Biography\n\nJanet Pope joined the Lynnwood Public Facilities District in April 2020 just as the Country was shutting down.  She pivoted from a career as a nonprofit executive in organizations addressing the social safety net for affordable housing\, homelessness\, and multiple community development projects\, as well as performing arts and education programs.   Janet was excited to come back to Snohomish County after years in King County to do more in her own community.  She specifically was intrigued by the prospect of creating the vision for the Lynnwood Event Center property to become the shining star of the City Center redevelopment\, while supporting the community safety net through the economic impact potential of the property for Lynnwood and Snohomish County under the mantra of a "rising tide raises all ships".  \n\nA lifelong Puget Sound resident\, Janet lives with her partner Steve in Edmonds with their 140-pound Leonberger dog Abby and has four adult children and two stepchildren.  Her undergraduate degrees were in theater and communications\, followed by a Master of Fine Arts in acting.  She did a short stint as a theater actress before turning to teaching and public service and earning an additional master's degree in public administration.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSponsored by
